Association

Germany´s largest studio building which is run by its own tenants was funded in 1995. Since 2001 we are called KUNSTWERK KÖLN E. V. When signing our tenancy agreement, tenants automatically become members of our association. You can also become an external member and you can join the association of sponsors of the KUNSTWERK KÖLN.

Since 1995 KUNSTWERK offers a platform for art exhibitions and cultural events of the highest standard. Numerous well-known artists worked in some of our studios and show-cased their work in our exhibition space. High-profile musicians and DJs played gigs at KUNSTWERK as well as local, national and even international projects and collaborations were hosted in this venue! Here are the some of the highlights.

 

2011
_ November 2011: „From Dark to Day”, a group show curated by Marjorie Jongbloed. This show included work by Lonnie van Brummelen, Siebren de Haan, Eduard Genee und Hester Verkruissen and reestablished the KUNSTWERK as an exhibition venue after the end of the 2 years of building works at the KUNSTWERK

2010
_ „aha“-an exhibition exchange with artist space Aachen -June 2010 extensive building works at KUNSTWERK start in order to ensure fire protection requirements. During this period no exhibitions or events take place.
